While reading this sign I realized that I am so used to seeing poor grammar and spelling that my mind automatically corrects it for me.

I think since grammar is used as a single entity there you’re ok with saying “corrects it.” I think. After reading poor grammar I usually start to question myself.

Oh boy. I didn’t think anybody would be stupid enough to get “our” and “are” confused. Of course, Australians don’t have that problem. (We pronounce “our” like “hour” or “ow-er”.)
The only time I’ve seen it happen before was deliberately, on the Thorax Corp joke site (made by the people who run Homestar Runner). On the sidebar, look for the words “Are Founder”.
