  3. As a native of Washington state who has moved to East Texas, I can see why someone *might* make this mistake…

    Some with strong accents pronounce “sell” as “say’l” (which sounds like “sale”), making the two words homophones.

    Along the same lines, I talked with a woman who said a colleague went to work in (what I heard as) “Wales.” I thought she was talking about a part of the British Empire but really it was just a small town around here named “Wells.”

  5. Judging by the capitalization of every word except “a” and “for”, maybe this is the title of the piece of artwork hanging above it, which would make it almost correct.

    Done on canvas in watercolor, I call my next piece:

    Previously Shown Artwork Is Still for Sell!
