“.20 CENTS” should be “20 CENTS”
You’re making an assumption. ^^

At least they didn’t spell it “cloths”.

Unless I’m doing my math wrong, at that rate, one would get a mere $4 per ton of clothes.
Ooops, I mean “…a ton of cloths !!”
This sign really makes my eyes hurt.

Apostrophes can be abused by omission:
“Well even pick it up”
Somewhere, there’s an apostrophe sobbing quietly to itself because of that sentence…

Ye maths are right. Ye olde sign maker is clever.
Sign maker’s cunning calculation:
(0.20¢/cloth_pound) * (1$/100¢) = 0.002$/cloth_pound
Thus,
(0.002$/cloth_pound) * (2000 cloth_pound / cloth_ton) = 4$/cloth_ton
A more ethical approach:
(20¢/cloth_pound) * (1$/100¢) = 0.2$/cloth_pound
Thus,
(0.2$/cloth_pound) * (2000 cloth_pound / cloth_ton) = 400$/cloth_ton
[BTW, units follow quantity for math problems; so, don't nail me on that.]

That fractional cents error is too frequent.

This sign is a Wordsplosion buffet. There are so many errors I hardly knew where to look first. Thank you, Mark and Sara, for this site.

Closets to full, turbines to speed, batteries to power…
Oh, wait –
Closets TOO full!

The voices in my head are getting louder….
Where clothes? There clothes! Their clothes are there! They are, even!
