Sarah and I stared at this one for a while before figuring out what is going on. It appears that they were short one “E.” But they had an extra “L” handy. What you’re seeing is “INLFFECT” but with the first “F” layered over the “L.” Too bad the person who was clever enough to see that an “F” and an “L” make an “E” when superimposed wasn’t smart enough to put a space between the two words. Even then, they’d be short an “F” after losing one to their Frankenstein’s Monster of a letter which I hereby dub “Leff.”

Oh, come on, give the guy a break. He probably spent so much energy trying to figure out how he was going to make an ‘E’ that he skimped on the space.

I thought maybe the ‘INE’ had been pushed forward accidentally, and the ‘E’ became obscured by the ‘F’, but now that I look at it I think you guys are right, and it’s an ‘L’.
I must say they’re not going to get very far for future signage if they only have two ‘E’s.

Wow… I’m gonna have to take a picture of the gas station sign across the street from my neighborhood. They’re short a Y or two, so you’ll see HAPPY BIRTHDAX messages to various people…
I’m guessing it’s some obscure Deep Space 9 reference?

I read it “infect all summer” at first…
