No, that’s perfectly correct.
You see, the Yonge subway was, for a moment, slightly longer then it used to be, before returning to it’s original size.
Granted, there does seem to be a missing comma:
Yonge subway longer, then normal.

Alcari, that’s the point of the joke. It should read “Yonge subway longer than normal”. They used the wrong word.
